Monitoring Station
The monitoring station in the Lofoten Islands is Oskari Lindgren’s regular workplace. It is used for environmental field and resonance measurements and for monitoring magnetic, ionospheric, and weather-related changes.
The monitoring station stands on a rocky ridge a few hundred meters from the sea. The small, low building serves primarily as a technical measurement and observation point. Antennas and sensors surround it, with cables running into the ground.
Oskari usually works at the station alone. Its measurements form part of a wider observation network, and the data can be compared with measurements made in Tromsø and with satellite observations.
The station monitors the behavior and changes of environmental fields. Measurements include magnetic-field conditions, ionospheric behavior, phase differences, coherence, and regional resonance anomalies. Some observed variations may be associated with ordinary natural phenomena, including space weather and atmospheric conditions.
The station’s purpose is not to provide a ready-made explanation for every observation. Its purpose is to measure accurately enough to distinguish ordinary variation from something that does not behave as expected.
