Oskari moved from Finland to Norway in 2019. He first lived in Oslo, then moved to the Lofoten Islands fairly soon afterward for his current job. At the monitoring station, he usually works alone, tracking environmental fields, coherence, phase differences, and regional resonance behavior as part of a wider observation network.
Aija Lumén and Oskari have known each other since their student days. Their long friendship has endured even as life took them in different directions and eventually to different countries.
A couple of years before the events of the Connection, Oskari met Sigrid Nilsen after the Oslo HiFi Show. They discovered they were headed in the same direction and continued the trip together. After that, they met from time to time and often talked about sound, music, and what could be observed around and beneath what is heard.
Oskari drives an old red Volvo 240 Estate that he bought used in 2011. In the Lofoten Islands, his favorite pizzeria is on the waterfront near the harbor and Sigrid’s studio.
